I've watched this three times trying to break the illusion's grip on my brain. But I keep failing my saving throw. This spell-like effect must have a DC of like 50 or something.

This looks like one of the experiments Richard Dawkins described in God Delusion...
It is exactly that. I've seen a similar effect before, but not quite that dramatic. It really is an incredible example of the persistence of experience over actual sensory data.
